Merriweather and King Street School Fund, Inc. is committed to helping build a more resilient and equitable community system that creates a better future for people in the rural communities we serve.  The primary goal is to help enhance the students opportunities to seek further education and improve their chances of success by providing a financial scholarship.
 

In the past year, Merriweather and King Street School Fund, Inc. has held five (5) events to seek funds to support our initiatives.  Events were  held: February 16, 2023; April 14, 2023; June 9, 2023; and June 30, 2023.  Of these events, more than $3,000 focused in giving on education outreach, scholarships, tutoring and preservation of the history and culture of historic Rosenwald Rural Schools. Upcoming events are scheduled for: August 4, 2023; September 8, 2023; October 6, 2023; November 11, 2023; and December 2, 2023.
 

In addition to our fundraisers, we are engaging in community awareness. The organization has donated  seven (7) benches to the community areas in need. The organization donated to the children's community book drive. We are giving back to the community with a back to school social August 4th (all students and families are welcome).  There will be free food products for the families, limited school supplies for the children, along with a drawing of assorted gift baskets. Additionally, September 15, 2023, we are serving a meal to the Henry County Senior Citizens.  Through community giving and the work of our Board, volunteers and our ambitious impact plan -The Merriweather and King Street School Fund, Inc. - we can make a greater impact on the lives of those students in our community.
